Avalon Waterways is to host 80 travel agents on fam trips in 2016 as part of its trade engagement strategy on board one of its newest ships, the Avalon Tapestry II.
The agents will be hosted on three and four night shortened Paris to Normandy Landing Beaches sailings in April.
There will also be a jointly hosted cruise with Clia from 6-8 April for about 20 agents.
Clia has targeted cruise agent members who have not experienced a river cruise before and want to increase their product knowledge. The ship will also be the venue for the CLIA Cruise Travel Agent Advisory Council hosted by Andy Harmer.
Paul Sharp, Avalon’s national account manager said: “It’s a difficult challenge for agents who haven’t experienced a river cruise to be really confident in selling all aspects of this high value holiday product. As the market becomes even more competitive, we are committed to providing as many agents as possible with the opportunity to experience it themselves, increase their product knowledge and be confident in selling river cruise to customers. “
