Paul Sharp joins Cosmos Tours

Paul Sharp, the former business development manager for Amawaterways, has joined Cosmos Tours as the company’s new national sales manager.

Sharp will be tasked with developing the tour operator’s commercial trade strategy for Avalon Waterways, as well as the company’s other brands, through the contacts he has built up while working in the industry.

He was also head of agency & group sales at The River Cruise line from 2011 to 2014.

Speaking to Cruise Adviser Sharp said: “One area of the business I am keen to grow is the group travel sector, which is a major growth area. That is in addition to developing awareness around the Cosmos Tours brand and the ever increasing river industry.”

Cosmos Tours also partners with CroisiEurope.

The French river operator offers the only river cruise in Andalucia, on the Guadalquivir River, an area that many Brits would find attractive. The region will be another one of Sharp’s key focuses moving forward.

Sharp will be reporting into Cosmos Tours product & commercial director John Fair, who commented: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the team as he brings with him masses of enthusiasm and a wealth of experience of our specialist sector of the industry.”
