Regent makes changes to on-board experience

Ultra-luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises has made changes to its dining and on-board credit policy to help “customise the guest experience”, according to its CEO.

The company has opened up its pool grills for guests who wish to dine al-fresco, in a more relaxed atmosphere, and allowed guests to use on-board credits toward ship-based purchases prior to departure.

The change regarding credit, which comes in to play on cruises from May 1, 2019, means guests can book Regent Choice Shore Excursions as well as Executive Collection Private Car Tours. The Culinary Arts Kitchen Classes on Seven Seas Splendor and Seven Seas Explorer can also now be booked in advance.

“Every guest has a slightly different definition of luxury,” explained Jason Montague, the president and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “For some, the ability to relax and enjoy the finest cuisine in a casual setting, while watching the sunset from the pool deck of our ships and seeing the ocean waves go by, is luxurious. Our goal is to deliver a personalised experience to all our guests and serving dinner at the pool grill is one more step in delivering this customised guest experience.”

The decision to offer al-fresco dining came on the back of guest demand for a more informal dinner option  – especially after a day of shore excursions. The option will be available on all four of the line’s ships.
