Royal Caribbean starts search for Instagram star

Royal Caribbean International has started looking for a Shore Explorer apprentice, with applications being taken via Instagram.

The successful applicant will embark on a global trip to test new land-based experiences for the company – recording their adventures on Instagram as part of a new campaign.

The Shore Explorer will embark on a trip which will include Japan, Alaska, Europe, the Middle East, and Perfect Day at CocoCay – Royal Caribbean’s private island opening in May. They will be paid the equivalent of £100,000 while travelling.

Ben Bouldin, managing director of Royal Caribbean International UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited to invite our trade agents, as well as the general public, to apply to for this once in a lifetime position. Our agents work so hard to promote our incredible on-land experiences that guests can enjoy as part of our cruise holidays, so it’s fantastic that we are able to offer them the opportunity to help influence and curate our shore excursion programme for 2019 and beyond. It’s another chance for them, and our guests, to take the Royal Caribbean experience to the next level.”

To apply applicants need to share their favourite travel experience in a picture or video on Instagram, Insta-Stories or IGTV tagging #ShoreExplorer and @RoyalCaribbeanUK. All entrants must be 21 years or over, hold a valid passport and be able to travel this year.
