Voyages to Antiquity partners with Andante Travels
Voyages to Antiquity and Andante Travels have announced a partnership to collaborate on a range of cultural cruise and land tours across the Mediterranean in 2019.
“Only with Andante” pre and post-cruise extras will now be available on three VTA cruises in May, August and September 2019.
VTA said Andante’s experts will accompany passengers on enhanced visits to destinations such as the Belvedere gallery of the Colosseum in Rome; the little-visited Trajan harbour of Portus; a private visit to the Doge’s Palace in Venice; and in Athens, the ancient religious shrine of Eleusis, once on a par with Delphi but now hardly known.
Jos Dewing, Managing Director of Voyages to Antiquity, said: “I have long been a big fan of Andante and the close similarities in ethos and shared focus on cultural travel between our two companies makes this an extremely logical and exciting collaboration. I believe Andante will offer and develop a very successful cruise product and I am thrilled that they have selected VTA as their launch partner.”
Founded by archaeologists, Andante Travels, part of the Specialist Journeys Group, has offers archaeology, culture and history-themed tours.
Richard Tarrant, marketing director of Specialist Journeys, added: “As market leaders in the small-ship cultural cruise sector, Voyages to Antiquity are a natural fit for Andante’s wonderful destinations and world-class experts. I’m looking forward to seeing the collaboration taking both companies in yet more interesting and diverse directions in the future.”
