Alex Delamere-White to leave P&O Cruises

Sales & marketing director to leave travel industry

Alex Delamere-White is to leave Carnival UK in early summer, the company has confirmed.

Delamere-White has held numerous roles during his time at Carnival UK, including sales director at Princess Cruises and, most recently, as sales & marketing director at P&O Cruises.

He will join McCarthy Stone, the retirement community developer and manager, as its chief commercial officer.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said “We are very grateful for the contribution Alex has made in his position and throughout his tenure with the business. He has been instrumental in many successful campaigns as well as the implementation of the Shine Rewards Club for agents and he has played a key role in the leadership team. We wish him well in his future career.”

His replacement will be announced in due course.

Delamere-White said: “McCarthy Stone is going through an exciting period and I am proud to join the market leader in the retirement community sector. The business showed its value during the Covid-19 pandemic by helping keep its customers safe and well. To continue to be successful and support older people we must demonstrate the value of and evolve the retirement living proposition. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to make McCarthy Stone one of the great UK brands.”

John Tonkiss, chief executive of McCarthy Stone, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome someone of Alex’s calibre to McCarthy Stone. He joins with a huge amount of experience from another leading business and brings considerable sales and brand-building knowledge. He is an excellent marketer who will further develop our marketing effectiveness and help us deliver our growth plan.”
