Aurora Expeditions has launched a new series of expeditions to destinations including Alaska and Haida Gwaii, The North West Passage and The Russian Far East on board the Greg Mortimer and its second ship, the Sylvia Earle.
The company has opened up pre-registration of the voyages to travel partners, with those who do so able to access early bird offers and reserve their cabin category of choice. The voyages will go on sale on October 27.
Craig Upshall, Director of Sales for UK and Europe said “Whilst Aurora Expeditions has been synonymous with the more traditional polar regions of the European Arctic and the Antarctic Peninsula, the arrival of the new ship Sylvia Earle in the autumn of 2021, and a new global voyages program, will ensure that Aurora Expeditions continues to offer innovative and intrepid voyages to remote locations and hard-to-reach islands.”
The company will be holding two webinar and coffee mornings for agents wanting to know more about the itineraries. The first will be on October 6 at 9.30am while the second will be held on October 7 at 4.30pm with the first 100 agents receiving a free coffee voucher from Starbucks.
Aurora will offer Alaska expeditions ranging in May and June 2022, exploring the region’s famed Inside Passage as well as joining the Haida Gwaii indigenous community who will share stories of their heritage.
In September the Greg Mortimer will traverse the Northwest Passage on a 17-day voyage, exploring the Canadian High Arctic on an epic 900-mile voyage.
From July to August the company will explore the Russian Far East, including Wrangel Island, home to the world’s highest concentration of polar bear dens – and the largest population of Pacific Walrus.
Victoria Primrose, Aurora Expeditions global head of marketing, added: “With wonderful feedback on the Greg Mortimer ship during its maiden season (Antarctica 2019/20), and with the upcoming delivery of our second purpose-built expedition ship, the Sylvia Earle, in just over 12 months, (October 2021) it continues to be an exciting period of growth for Aurora Expeditions. We hope these new itineraries, in particular Alaska, The North West Passage and The Russian Far East, evoke some wanderlust for those who are patiently ready and waiting to explore the world again with Aurora Expeditions.”
