Azamara announces its return to Venice

The line will return to the Italian city from April 2023, and the 32 itineraries will also visit neighbouring ports Chioggia and Fusina

Azamara has announced that it will be returning to Venice in 2023.

The line has scheduled 32 itineraries to visit the fabled Italian city, beginning on April 3, 2023, as part of Azamara Journey’s 12-night The Best of The Med voyage.

Azamara’s four ships will also access the Venetian Lagoon ports of Fusina and Chioggia, the latter of which has recently experienced a rise in tourism thanks to its bacari – bars serving wine and finger food along the central canal, Riva Vena.

Mike Pawlus, Azamara’s director of strategic itinerary and destination planning, said: “Thanks to our longstanding relationship with the local officials and port authorities of Venice, we’re thrilled to not only bring our guests back to this historic canal city, but also to allow them to discover the wonders of neighbouring towns such as Chioggia, which only smaller ships can visit.

“We look forward to once again immersing our guests in the rich local culture and amazing historical sites that the destination has to offer.”

Azamara also offers shore excursions in Venice, including a romantic evening gondola ride, a motorboat cruise to the neighbouring islands of Murano and Burano and a guided walking tour with a local expert.
