Clia hosts river cruise crusades

Clia UK & Ireland recently completed its first ever River Cruise Crusade, set up to help spread the word about the growing river sector.

The events, which were held in Newcastle, Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford and Ipswich, gave agents the opportunity to meet operators, listen to a panel discussion and take part in a quiz hosted by Cruise Adviser. Cruise lines in attendance included CroisiEurope, Riviera, Saga, Scenic and Fred River Cruises.

The river industry grew by 21 per cent in 2017, according to numbers released by Clia – with about 210,400 UK passengers taking a river cruise.

Clia will also be holding three luxury and expedition showcases in October in Belfast (October 8), Manchester (9) and Norwich (10).
