Crystal announces four new ships

CEO says company is in talks for two expedition vessels and two classic cruise ships

Crystal has announced that it is currently in talks to build four more ships, including two expedition vessels.

The comments were made by Cristina Levis, CEO of A&K Travel Group, during a briefing to the media and travel agents onboard the newly refurbished Crystal Serenity.

During the presentation Levis said: “We have ambitious growth plans for Crystal and are proud of what we have accomplished with the relaunch of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony in just under a year following the purchase of the brand. We are now thrilled to formally announce that we will be growing our fleet and continue to offer the most exceptional cruising experiences in the industry.”

Crystal Serenity is the first of Crystal’s two ships to relaunch. It is now embarking on its inaugural season with A&K.

The ship has had its staterooms enlarged and it has removed facilities, including the casino.

“Crystal has been recognised for decades for exceptional experiences and we are excited to welcome guests back onboard for its new gilded era,” added Levis. “In just one year, we’ve been able to revitalised the ships, a feat nearly unheard of in our industry. It is an honour to be signalling this new chapter better than ever and right on schedule, all while retaining 80% of Crystal’s beloved crew on board.”
