Disney launches Avengers dining experience

The immersive dining adventure will launch in summer 2022 on new ship Disney Wish

Disney Cruise Line will debut an Avengers-themed dining experience aboard new ship Disney Wish in summer 2022.

The Avengers: Quantum Encounter at the World of Marvels restaurant will provide guests with an interactive role in an Avengers mission that unfolds around them.

“Avengers: Quantum Encounter is Disney Cruise Line’s most ambitious dining experience ever,” said Danny Handke, senior creative director, Walt Disney Imagineering.

He added: “We’re doing something that’s never been done before in a restaurant, developing an exclusive Avengers adventure that will immerse our guests in the action through sophisticated technology and innovative storytelling. It’s the perfect complement to the incredible menu of story-driven dining aboard the Disney Wish.”

Every table at the Worlds of Marvel restaurant will feature an interactive “Quantum Core”, a new device “that can cause objects to shrink and grow remotely”.

Guests will help Ant-Man and The Wasp as they attempt small-scale trials, such as shrinking oversized luggage for easy stateroom storage.

The menu will be inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with dishes evoking legendary places, including African Wakanda, Eastern European Sokovia and the Avengers’ home base of New York City.

Previously announced immersive dining experiences on board Disney Wish include “Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure”, and “1923”, a celebration of The Walt Disney Company’s legacy.

Casual dining spots will include food hall Marceline Market, and Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods.

Disney Wish will sail its maiden voyage on June 9, 2022, followed by a season of three- and four-night cruises to Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island Castaway Cay, from Port Canaveral, Florida.
