Princess Cruises has confirmed that the delivery of Enchanted Princess will be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A Princess Cruises spokesperson said: “Princess Cruises confirms that the delivery of Enchanted Princess is delayed. A new delivery date has not been determined since the Fincantieri yard in Monfalcone, Italy remains closed. Voyages through July 31 have been cancelled.
“The delivery delay is due to the country-wide lockdown imposed by the Italian government and public health officials in response to the Covid-19 outbreak.
“The naming ceremony scheduled to take place in Southampton on June 30 has been cancelled. Inaugural activities are under review in conjunction with changes to the ship deployment.”
Princess Cruises has suspended operations until June 30, 2020.
The line has extended its Cruise with Confidence offer to departures up to July 31, 2020, allowing guests to cancel up to 48 hours before sailing. They will receive a future cruise credit to the value of the cancellation fee. The line has also extended their offer of a 60-day final payment date.
For cruises departing between August 1 and October 15, 2020, guests can cancel up to 30 days before sailing and receive a future cruise credit to the amount of their cancellation fee.
