Enchanted Princess to sail from Southampton this summer

The line says the support of UK agents helped drive the decision

Princess Cruises will base its new ship Enchanted Princess in Southampton for the 2022 summer season. From May 4 the ship will offer 13 new voyages, ranging from four to 14 nights.

The 3,660-guest vessel joined the Princess fleet in November 2021 and is currently completing its inaugural Caribbean season before heading to Europe in April. Enchanted Princess will be one of four Princess ships sailing out of Southampton this year, alongside sister ship Sky Princess. They will be joined by Emerald Princess and Island Princess

New itineraries include the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Norway and Iceland.

Tony Roberts, vice president of Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said the move was thanks to the “continued support” of the trade. He explained: “Driven by the fantastic response from UK travel agents on having two Royal-class ships sailing out of Southampton in 2021, we have decided to bring Enchanted Princess to Southampton for this year’s UK summer season.

“We’ve been extremely encouraged by demand for Princess Cruises’ 2022 sailings, with UK bookings already exceeding our full year 2019 result.”

All-inclusive balcony fares, which include the line’s premium drinks package, unlimited MedallionNet Wi-Fi and crew appreciation, start from £499pp for a five-night cruise to Belgium, the Channel Islands and the Netherlands in May.

Enchanted Princess’ new cruises go on sale on March 23 at 8am.

Last week the line announced it had finalised the programmes for its 2022 Alaska cruises after the Federal Minister of Transport in Canada announced cruising in Canadian ports could safely resume.
