Fred Olsen cancels four winter sailings
The line has explained in a Facebook post that the decision was taken due to lack of demand and high fuel prices
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines has cancelled four winter sailings due to a lack of demand and high fuel prices.
Instead, the ship will undergo routine technical work which had been planned for 2023 and will return to service on December 21 for its planned Christmas cruise to Norway.
In addition, the ship’s full winter schedule will be moved from Tilbury to Dover and Southampton.
“This is always a quieter period for cruising and this small number of sailings did not quite reach the guest numbers we were hoping for, especially in light of the current high fuel prices we are all facing,” explained Fred Olsen managing director Peter Deer in a Facebook post.
“Cancelling these cruises was not an easy decision for us to make and our team have been speaking with guests who are affected to help them find an alternative cruise to look forward to.
