Holland America Line reveals 150th anniversary plans
The line will mark the occasion with two commemorative transatlantic voyages and extended onboard celebrations
Holland America Line has announced plans to celebrate its 150th anniversary with a series of special events and activities, including two commemorative transatlantic crossings on its new ship Rotterdam.
The first departs from Rotterdam on October 15, 2022 and calls at Plymouth, Le Havre and New York – where the year of celebrations will begin in style – en route to Fort Lauderdale. The second makes the return journey, departing on April 4, 2023 and arriving back into Rotterdam on April 18 – the line’s 150th anniversary – in time for a night of festivities.
“A milestone like a 150th anniversary doesn’t come around often for most companies, and our celebrations will bring to life our century-and-a-half of amazing history,” said Gus Antorcha, Holland America Line’s president.
“Holland America Line has touched the lives of millions of people throughout the years – whether by bringing them to a new life in America or providing a once-in-a-lifetime vacation. We have some really special experiences planned over the next several months to honour our heritage.”
During the crossings, Holland America Line is planning memorable experiences that will weave the company’s history into the menus, activities, entertainment, special guest speakers and more.
There will be other specially marketed cruises throughout the year that will relive Holland America Line’s history of exploration. The dates, along with additional celebratory details will be announced in the near future.
