Liz Ryan joins cruisingexcursions.com
Ryan will be business development manager at the shore excursion company
Cruisingexcursions.com has appointed Liz Ryan as its business development manager.
Ryan joins the company from Sykes Cottages where she was property recruitment team manager.
She previously spent two stints at Saga Holidays where was latterly senior regional sales manager, and she has also worked at Wendy Wu Tours and Affordable Car Hire.
Ryan will be reporting to Cruising Excursions’ head of trade sales, Kirsty Bachelor to reengage with agents.
Kirsty Bachelor said: “Liz has joined Cruising Excursions’ trade team at an exciting time when we’re seeing cruise sailings being released earlier than ever and due to the pent-up demand, we’re now working as far ahead as 2024 bookings.”
She added: “Liz will be assisting me to deliver trade sales objectives and a trade communication programme. Additionally, she’ll be implementing sales campaigns, developing existing and new trade relationships and conducting agent training when required.”
Cruising Excursions sells travel agent commissionable shore excursions independent of the cruise line with an average agent excursion sale of £350.
In a statement, the company state that “selling excursions is a valuable source of income for travel agents, with high commission paid”.
Cruising Excursions offer pre-bookable tours that they say have “prices lower than the cruise lines with a price match guarantee and free cancellation up to 14 days prior to sailing”.
Excursions include English speaking tour guides with air-conditioned transport. The company guarantees to get passengers back to the ship in plenty of time for departure.
