MSC becomes Formula 1’s official cruise partner

The line will showcase its ships at Grand Prix weekends

MSC Cruises has signed a multi-year deal to become the official cruise partner of Formula 1. As a global partner for the motor racing competition, the line’s ships will be port-side during select Grand Prix weekends.

A spokesperson for the line said: “Through this unique partnership MSC Cruises will be able to leverage Formula 1’s growing global fanbase to showcase its extensive offering of quality holidays at sea, and bring the thrill of Formula 1 to MSC Cruises’ global audience.”

The deal began on Sunday March 20 at the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2022, with the release of a promotional video: 

MSC and Formula 1 have both committed to becoming net-zero carbon. Pierfrancesco Vago, MSC Cruises’ executive chairman said: “There is a strong shared ambition between us and F1 as we are both committed to investing in research to accelerate the development and adoption of next generation technologies – both maritime and environmental in our case – to build the future of our industries in a sustainable way.
