MSC Cruises receives sustainability certification
The line has announced that its fleet has been awarded ISO 21070:2017, underlining their commitment to the protecting the environment
MSC Cruises has announced that its fleet has been awarded ISO 21070:2017 certification.
The certificate refers to onboard waste management, including control, collection, separation, cataloguing, treatment and storage. It also describes the ship-to-shore interface and the delivery of waste from the ship to port reception facilities.
The line said that, in future, all ships added to its fleet will receive the certification when they enter service.
“We are proud that our entire fleet is now ISO 21070: 2017 certified,” said Minas Myrtidis, VP environmental operations and compliance.
“As we work at the forefront of advancing the major sustainability challenges our industry faces, we continue to use every tool available to accelerate this process, including industry standards and certifications.
“We are and will always remain committed to protecting the environment.”
