MSC Grandiosa to focus on the Norwegian fjords this summer

The ship will no longer focus on Baltic Sea sailings, after the line suspended calls to St Petersburg

MSC Cruises has announced that MSC Grandiosa will now be dedicated to the Norwegian fjords for the summer 2022 season, rather than Baltic Sea sailings, after the line suspended calls to St Petersburg. Some itineraries for MSC Preziosa and MSC Poesia have also been amended.

MSC Grandiosa will homeport in Kiel, Germany, offering seven-night itineraries to Norway from May 7 to September 3. Itineraries will call at Denmark, before visiting Hellesylt and Sunnylvsfjord in Norway and sailing through Aurlandsfjord on the way to the port town of Alesund and Flam.

The move comes after the line announced it was suspending calls to St Petersburg following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Some itineraries on MSC Preziosa and MSC Poesia have also been affected. They will both sail in the Baltics, but St Petersburg has been replaced with other destinations in the region, including Stockholm, Tallinn and Visby. The two ships will also offer seven-night Norwegian fjords options.

MSC Cruises is contacting travel agents and guests affected by the updated itineraries for all three ships.
