MSC Cruises pushes back restart for Magnifica
Move made after the Italian government introduces testing measures for those who have visited Greece.
MSC Cruises has postponed the restart of sailings on MSC Magnifica until September 26.
The move was made after the Italian government introduced additional testing measures for those who have visited Greece. The company said that it had seen “cancellations and a softening in demand since the ship’s itinerary includes as many as three ports in that country”.
MSC Cruises had originally been scheduled to resume cruises on August 29.

The cruises between August 29 and September 19 have now been cancelled. The first cruise will depart from Bari, Italy with an unchanged itinerary on 26 September.
Guests affected by the cancelled cruises will be able to either sail on another cruise – on MSC Grandiosa, which is currently sailing in the West Mediterranean – or will receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) where they have the opportunity to transfer the full amount paid for their cancelled cruise to a future cruise of their choice – on any ship, for any itinerary through to the end of 2021.
The current sailings are only open to residents of Schengen countries, meaning potential UK guests are unaffected.
