MSC to christen Euriba in Copenhagen

Choice is to highlight environmental credentials

MSC Cruises is to officially name its newest ship, MSC Euriba, in Copenhagen on June 8.

The ship will be the second MSC ship to be powered by LNG, one of the many new environmental measures on board, including an advanced wastewater treatment system, waste management handling and shore power connectivity. These will help the ship achieve zero emissions when connected to onshore power.

MSC said Copenhagen was chosen as it “symbolises the line’s commitment to protecting the oceans” and Denmark is a country with “a deep respect for the sea and commitment to sustainability”.

MSC Euriba will sail out of Southampton from October 2023 through to April 2024.
