New cruise booking website has been launched by It is designed for travellers who want to book and manage their cruise entirely online.

It follows research by the company that revealed 20 per cent of customers are looking to go online-only when securing their holiday at sea.

This demand for online-only interactions has, in part, been prompted by cruise holidays becoming increasingly popular among younger people, with reporting that 44 per cent of its customers are now under the age of 60.

The study was carried out among 1,500 holidaymakers earlier this year and prompted the cruise specialist to initially open Seascanner to a limited audience. With bookings increasing by an average of 40 per cent each month during the trial period, the site has now officially launched.

“Our study was clear that flexibility is key. The launch of, our ‘one stop shop’ website, is testament to some customers seeking an increasingly independent approach to making bookings,” said Tony Andrews, deputy managing director of
