New ship to join Amadeus fleet in 2022
Amadeus Cara will cruise on the Danube and Rhine from June 2022
Amadeus River Cruises has revealed that its new five-star ship, the Amadeus Cara, will enter service in spring 2022.
The 135-metre-long ship will accommodate 163 guests and is due to operate on the Danube, Rhine and its tributaries.
Facilities include a restaurant, bar, café, open-air river terrace, a lower sun deck lounge, and a fitness and massage room.
Staterooms on the Strauss and Mozart decks feature lowerable panoramic windows which extend across the entire cabin front, while each of the 10 suites boast a walk-in balcony.
There’s also a newly developed air filtration system on board, which provides a two-stage cleaning system that Amadeus says is “proven to achieve excellent results, even with Covid-19 virus particles and bacteria”.
Kirsty Reid, product and sales manager for the Amadeus River Cruises in the UK, said: “The new ship in 2022 will not only serve as much-needed extra capacity increase for the great demand for our high quality river cruises, but is also a promise to our passengers that we will continue to offer one of the most modern fleets in the five-star segment.”
Amadeus Cara’s first sailing will be an eight-day Classical Rhine Cruise between Basel and Amsterdam departing June 10, 2022, with prices leading in at £1,686.40 per person, based on two people sharing. The price includes all meals; beer, wine and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; onboard entertainment; the use of onboard bicycles; wifi; taxes and port charges.
