nicko cruises begins sailing again
Buffets are suspended and a doctor is on board
Nicko cruises, the European river cruise line, has started sailing again.
The nickVision, which can hold up to 220 passengers, set sail on June 1 with 110 German passengers on an 11-day Passau to Dusseldorf cruise.
The company has implemented new safety procedures including temperature checks, extra disinfecting measures and reduced capacity to allow for social distancing. Buffets have been suspended and a doctor is also on board.
Rupert Thomson, managing director of Light Blue Travel, the UK representative for nicko cruises, said: “It’s heartening to see green shoots of a return to European river cruising by nicko cruises – it’s a positive step forward. For keen UK cruise fans European river cruising will be a good option as they start travelling again. Smaller vessels with less passengers, easy to reach embarkation ports by air, rail or self-drive and sailing never far from land.”
