All of the line's 12 ships are now operating, following the deployment of Le Soléal

Ponant’s 12-strong fleet of ships are now all sailing again, following a pause in operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The final vessel to return to the water was Le Soléal, which set sail on May 28 from Broome, on a new itinerary to explore the Kimberley.

Hervé Bellaïche, chief sales, marketing and communication officer, said: “Our customers are expressing a strong desire to travel. Bookings are steadily coming in again with requests for quotes up compared to 2019 and a higher conversion rate. At this point in the season, bookings for summer 2022 are above 80%”.

As different regions emerge from the health crisis, the company is also seeing shorter booking windows and an increase in last minute bookings.

Earlier this year Ponant unveiled its 2023 collection of sailings with Smithsonian Journeys, the travel programme of the Smithsonian Institution.
