Ponder’s Travel launches new travel app

Cambridge-based specialist cruise agent Ponder’s Travel has assimilated the experience of its sales team into a new, free travel app.

Founder Clare Dudley wanted to combine high-street presence with high technology to bring Ponder’s Travel’s knowledge of the travel and cruise industry to as many potential clients as possible. The app comes just three months after the opening of a new Ponder’s Travel retail outlet in Over, near Cambridge.

Dudley said: “I still maintain that nothing beats face-to-face contact and opening our new retail store has been a fantastic success, but modern technology enables our clients to take Ponder’s home with them. So we’re always there when clients need information about cruise lines, itineraries, cabins, onboard facilities and, of course, our complete, independent, impartial advice.”

The new app includes a quote facility for calculating the cost and details of proposed trips. It also delivers details of offers, upgrades, events and competitions, and provides a comprehensive database of cruise lines, cruises and destination information.

The app is available from Google Play and the Apple App Store, or by scanning the QR code.
