Princess Cruises adds Enchanted Princess sports-themed cruise
The ship will welcome four sporting giants this August
Princess Cruises has introduced a sports-themed cruise on UK homeport ship Enchanted Princess in August, featuring a line-up of sporting legends.
The Sports Stars cruise will take place on a seven-night Spain and France voyage departing Southampton on August 5. It will be hosted by Olympian Gail Emms MBE, who will run a series of Q&A sessions with sporting figures spanning rugby, cricket and the Olympics.
They include Martin Johnson CBE, who is best known for captaining England to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup and is regarded as one of the greatest rugby players of all time.
He will be joined by former England international cricketer turned TV and radio personality Phil Tufnell. He made his debut for Middlesex in 1986 and took more than 1,000 first-class wickets and 121 wickets in his 42 caps for England.
Sir Steve Redgrave will also be on board. The five-time Olympic gold medallist is considered to be one of Britain’s greatest Olympians, and is best known for winning five gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games.
Host Gail Emms MBE has a string of gold, silver and bronze medals achieved in a vast array of international competitions and Olympic Games. Emms won a silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games with mixed badminton doubles partner Nathan Robertson as a former world champion.
Enchanted Princess joined the Princess fleet in November 2021 and will join Sky Princess, Emerald Princess, and Island Princess, which all sail out of Southampton this year.
Earlier this month the line announced its new premium add-on package that includes unlimited wifi, premium beverages and the chance to win $100,000.
