Riviera Travel announces trade engagement committee

Agents can apply to join now

Riviera Travel is to create a new travel agent engagement committee.

The move follows a survey of more than 500 travel agents that Riviera Travel sent out to help boost engagement.

The survey highlighted the following:

• 97% of agents scored four or above for ‘ease of booking’
• 92% of agents scored four or above for ‘quality social content’
• 93% of agents scored four or above for trade friendliness.

The survey also revealed 77% of agents felt confident in selling river cruise, which Riviera has identified as an area to improve.

The committee will meet twice a year, in-person, to share their feedback, opinions, and ideas on how Riviera can better serve their needs. They will be asked for input on product development, marketing campaigns, training and education programmes, alongside incentive and engagement initiatives.

Tom Morgan, head of trade at Riviera Travel, said: “We recognise the vital role that travel agents play in Riviera’s success, and our dedicated trade team is always looking for ways to better serve their needs. Our survey was positive in a number of key areas, and also showed us we have improvements we can make. This new committee will be critical in supporting and informing these ambitions.

“The group will represent all types of agents including high street, homeworkers, call centres and OTAs, and further demonstrates that Riviera is committed to building and strengthening its relationships with agents.”

To apply to be part of the committee, agents should email Riviera at agencysales@rivieratravel.co.uk, with a short paragraph on why they should be a member. The successful applicants will be announced next month.
