Royal and Celebrity lift vaccine requirement
The two lines will no longer require passengers to be fully vaccinated on European and certain US sailings after September 5
Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises are removing the requirement for passengers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 on certain sailings from September 5.
Passengers will be able to sail with Royal Caribbean from any European homeport, as well as US ports Los Angeles, Galveston and New Orleans, regardless of their vaccination status.
Meanwhile, Celebrity has removed the requirement on all sailings from the UK and Europe, with the exception of Iceland, as well as Los Angeles.
However, the lines added that passengers who are not fully vaccinated to European Medicines Agency standards will need to take an onboard test in order to disembark in Greece and Spain.
The move comes after the lines’ parent company, Royal Caribbean Group, dropped pre-embarkation Covid-19 testing for vaccinated passengers on cruises of five days or less on August 8.
