Royal announces UK summer Anthem of the Seas sailings

999 free places for NHS, social care and Armed Forces staff

Royal Caribbean International has revealed that Anthem of the Seas will be sailing out of Southampton this summer, with a season of cruises planned from July 7.

The cruise line will be running four-night Ocean Getaway cruises in early July followed by five- and eight-night British Isles cruises from July 15. The company is also offering 999 free staterooms on its first Ocean Getaways for NHS, social care care and Armed Forces workers.

The new cruises are open for bookings on April 7. Anthem of the Seas will operate with a fully vaccinated crew while the cruises will only be available to UK residents over the age of 18 who are fully vaccinated.

A ballot will open for the 999 free staterooms on April 13, to be drawn at the end of April.

“The UK is a place we hold near and dear to our heart at Royal Caribbean. We miss our UK guests and are as eager as they are to get back to cruising from Southampton,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “We are delighted with the UK government’s recent announcements regarding cruising and excited to set sail again with a phenomenal ship and favorite such as Anthem of the Seas. After a tough year, we all need a holiday, but no one more so than the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and armed forces who will have the long-awaited opportunity to get away and relax with total peace of mind.”
