Royal Caribbean names new ship Spectrum of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has began working on its first Quantum Ultra ship, which is to be named Spectrum of the Seas. The ship is being built for the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets.

The vessel, which will be launched in 2019, is to be built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

Speaking yesterday, Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International said: “Today is a very special day in the development of our new Quantum Ultra ship, Spectrum of the Seas.
