Cruise news: Royal Caribbean International announces two new appointments

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean International has announced the appointment of Guy Farrow as key account manager for the UK & Ireland, and of Sophie West as regional sales manager to cover the Midlands area.

Farrow joins the cruise line from FMCG equipment pooling business, CHEP, where he worked in account management.

Farrow will report into Amanda Darrington, sales director for UK & Ireland, and will be responsible for a number of key agents across the country.

Darrington said: “We’re very excited to welcome Guy to the team. Guy brings with him a unique insight from outside the travel industry in personalised account management that will help identity the strengths of each individual business. His management and sales experience will make him a valuable team member in addition to the passion he has shown for the industry.”

Farrow said: “I have always admired the Royal Caribbean brand, so having the chance to be a part of the team is a fantastic opportunity. Since joining, I have already been inspired by the passion of Royal’s people, the business’s innovation and its appetite to be extraordinary!”

West will report into Sarah Weetman, head of retail for UK & Ireland, and will be responsible for covering the Midlands territory from Sheffield to Leicester and across to Lincolnshire.

Weetman said: “West brings with her five years’ of strong field experience in the world of FMCG and has shown a great enthusiasm at the prospect of tackling the challenge of a new industry.”

West said: “Travel, and cruise specifically, is new for me, but I am excited at the prospect of mastering such a diverse and interesting field. Royal Caribbean is a highly regarded consumer brand and I have been inspired by their people, passion for innovation and drive to be extraordinary! I can’t wait to have my own first-hand experience of the world of cruise very soon.”
