Scenic’s dedicated Japan season proving popular

The ultra-luxury cruise and escorted tour operator is offering a number of interaries with 20 per cent off Super Earlybird fares

Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours are reporting strong interest in their first-ever dedicated Japan voyages on board Scenic Eclipse in 2023.

Best known for their exploration cruises to the Polar regions, Scenic have put together an immersive Japanese programme that takes in nature, history and tradition as well as the bustling metropolises of Tokyo and Kyoto.

“This is our debut Japan season and, so far, the response has been excellent,” said Nichola Absalom, director, global brand and marketing.

“Because our ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, Scenic Eclipse, is limited to just 220 guests, we are able to access ports and regions that open up a whole range of incredible experiences.

“Visiting Japan independently can seem daunting, but with the knowledge and expertise of our onboard crew, the carefully balanced itineraries, and the six-star luxury of Scenic Eclipse, you can relax and enjoy the experience.

“We have handpicked a selection of itineraries that showcase the very different sides of the country; from an expedition voyage visiting the remote volcanic islands around the Pacific Ring of Fire, perfect for those interested in nature and scenery, to the culturally enriched voyages along the east and west coasts of Japan, with a curated programme of excursions and adventures led by experts in their field.

“Cruising is the perfect way to see the best of Japan. With its long coastlines, sophisticated infrastructure and 25 UNESCO Sites that can be reached from the coast. Whether you want to visit Kyoto’s Golden Temple, learn about Geisha life, and take part in a tea ceremony, visit Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park, hike the Mount Esan volcano or see the silver mines of Sado Island, a voyage on board Scenic Eclipse has an impressive portfolio of included excursions as part of its Freechoice and Enrich programmes.”

Up to 10 dining experiences are also included on board, including both western and Asian Fusion with a dedicated Sushi Bar, Night Market at Koko’s with an authentic Teppanyaki grill, and fine dining at Lumiere’s.

Itineraries currently available with Super Earlybird fares offering savings of up to 20 per cent include the 12-day Cultural Wonders of Japan departing on June 3, 2023 and the 15-day Natural Wonders of Japan departing on June 30, 2023.
