SeaDream Yacht Club adopts Starlink
The line has added the satellite internet, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, as part of a $10 million investment in its luxury yachts
SeaDream Yacht Club has added Starlink satellite internet to deliver high-speed connectivity on board its twin luxury yachts, SeaDream I and SeaDream II.
The satellite internet constellation is operated by Elon Musk’s company SpaceX, and uses a low-Earth orbit capable of supporting high-bandwidth activities such as video streaming, online gaming, video calls and more. SeaDream have added it as part of a $10 million investment in its luxury yachts.
“I am proud to announce that SeaDream is at the forefront of technology, becoming the first boutique travel line to implement Starlink on board,” said SeaDream founder, owner and chairman Andreas Brynestad.
“This innovation optimises our guests’ experience by putting high-speed Internet at their fingertips – so they can stream their favourite entertainment, work remotely and connect with friends and family back home.
“The small size of our yachts provides a distinct advantage, in that we can deliver a larger amount of internet per-person on board – quite possibly making us the fastest internet on the seas. In the two short months since introducing Starlink, we have received remarkable positive feedback from guests and crew alike.”
Additional improvements to SeaDream’s twin 56-stateroom yachts include state-of-the-art technology, functional and enhanced stateroom space and luxurious lounging areas on all decks.
