Silversea adds new VP of expedition product development

Bob Simpson will oversee the luxury line’s expedition strategy and joins with a wealth of experience in the sector

Silversea Cruises has added a new vice president of expedition product development to its team.

Bob Simpson will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the company’s expedition product strategy and will report into senior vice president of expeditions, destination and itinerary management, Conrad Combrink.

Simpson joins after 20 years at Abercrombie & Kent, where he was vice president of expedition cruises.

He also previously served as the chair on the executive committee of the International Association of Antarctic Tour Operators, and is a former member of the executive committee of the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators.

Combrink said: “With a career that has spanned decades and a wealth of expertise, few can match Bob’s knowledge of the fast-growing expedition cruise industry.
