P&O unveils sky-high activities on new ship Arvia

P&O's newest ship will have a high ropes experience and mini-golf on its top deck

P&O Cruises has revealed that its newest cruise ship Arvia will have a high ropes experience, tropical themed mini-golf and a water splash zone on its top deck.

The activities will form part of the Altitude experience on board Arvia, which is due to be launched in December 2022.

Powered by LNG, P&O say that the “environmentally-friendly ship” has been designed as the “sunshine ship” and will include a number of “adventure firsts” set high up on the top deck.

The nine-hole mini-golf course will include water hazards, tiki huts, and night-time illuminations, and will be open throughout the day and evening.

Altitude Splash Valley will be a family-friendly aquazone with water jets, shaded areas and ocean views, while the Altitude Skywalk will be the line’s first-ever high ropes experience, soaring 54 metres above the ocean with courses to suit all abilities.

The top deck will also be home to an outdoor sports court for football, basketball, short tennis or cricket.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said: “These thrilling new Altitude experiences will have fun and excitement at their heart. Holidays are about trying new things, being with friends and family and of course capturing the perfect holiday photos.

“Whether it’s the perfect putt, getting soaked by the jets or putting on a brave face with the Skywalk, there will be action and adventure images for everyone as we push new boundaries with Arvia’s top deck.”

An example Arvia cruise is a 14-night Caribbean itinerary costing £2,099 per person for an inside cabin, departing January 21, 2023. The price includes flights from the UK, kids’ clubs, full-board meals and entertainment.
