Spirit of Adventure pushed back to November

Saga Cruises next ship, the Sprit of Adventure, will sail its first cruise on November 5.

The ship had originally been due to start sailing in August but was pushed back because of delays at the shipyard brought about by Covid-19.

The Spirit of Adventure will now sail from Southampton on a round-trip to the Mediterranean in November.

Saga had already pushed cruises on the Spirit of Discovery back to September.

Nigel Blanks, Managing Director of Saga cruises, said: “We are delighted to announce the planned inaugural sailing of the Spirit of Adventure, our new luxury cruise ship. For her first voyage, the Spirit of Adventure will leave Southampton on 5th November to sail the Mediterranean, before returning to the UK. My team is in the process of calling all passengers booked on the inaugural cruise to update them with this latest development and we look forward to welcoming them onboard.

“We have been working with the industry and government to put in place state-of-the-art appropriate health protocols, putting guest safety first to ensure a return to service in the autumn.”
