Swan Hellenic names third expedition ship
The ship is named after the ancient Roman goddess of light, the moon, hunting and the wilderness
Swan Hellenic has revealed that its third expedition cruise ship will be called SH Diana.
Named after the ancient Roman goddess of light, the moon, hunting and the wilderness, the polar expedition vessel will be the line’s largest ship when it launches in early 2023. It will join SH Minerva, and SH Vega, which is due to set sail this April.
SH Diana will commence sailing in the Mediterranean. It will accommodate 192 guests in 96 staterooms and suites, the vast majority of which will offer large balconies, with a crew of 141.
It will boast a swimming pool, spa, panoramic sauna, gym, library, expedition laboratory and an observation lounge.
It will also feature a 4.6-megawatt diesel-electric hybrid-ready propulsion system with selective catalytic reduction and PC 6 ice-strengthened hull. It is currently being built at Helsinki Shipyard, where more than half the structure has been assembled.
Expedition day trips will be offered alongside kayaking, trekking and other activities.
