Widgety announces new platform for operators and agents
Tech provider makes announcement at event in Southampton
Widgety, the travel technology provider, is launching a first-of-its-kind technology platform for the industry, which will aggregate all content from every cruise and tour operator into a single portal for agents to use.
The platform will also allow operators to know which agencies are accessing their content.
The new system, which was revealed at an event in Southampton, will first be rolled out to existing cruise lines before being opened up to travel agent registrations later in the year.
Operators will be able to log in to the new Platform and manage their content, and importantly,
see which agencies, consortia, and other groups have access to it and on what level.
The Platform Preview was held at Widgety’s offices in Southampton; speakers at the event
included Steve Witt, Director at Not Just Travel who explained how the developments solve problems within their own businesses.
The new Widgety Platform will;
● Allow operators to take control of their content, and find all travel agents and others that
access it.
● Give operators the opportunity to connect and talk directly to the salespeople who actually
make the sales, as well as build teams for marketing, on-the-road BDMs and other staff.
● Give every cruise and tour operator a multifaceted trade-only brand hub to populate with
unique selling points, images, videos, brochures, FAQs, links to trade logins and contacts,
unique features, member’s clubs, in-depth ship content and more.
● Give every agent the content from every operator they sell, in one place.
“Widgety hopes to sit between the cruise line or tour operator, and the travel agents that sell the
holidays. Whether that’s online, on the phone, in a branch or at home” said Damian Gevertz,
Director at Widgety.
“Historically we’ve not been very good at telling people who our customers are or how much work
goes into every brand. The new platform is designed to allow everyone to essentially cut us out
and manage their own content, customers, and brand relationships, in one place”.
