Naming ceremony for Celebrity Apex

’ new ship named in Fort Lauderdale before kicking off inaugural season

’ new luxury ship Celebrity Apex has been named during a special ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.

The naming ceremony on Tuesday (November 2) was led by the ship’s godmother, Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and author of â€?Brave, Not Perfect’.

After the ceremony, the ship set sail on its inaugural Caribbean season, visiting Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Belize, and Grand Caymans.

Celebrity Apex features two-storey villa accommodation with plunge pools, 29 restaurants and lounges, a spa and luxury boutiques, including Montblanc, Bvlgari, Cartier and more.

Other ship highlights include The Magic Carpet, a cantilevered space above the sea which offers guests great views while sipping cocktails or having dinner.

The new luxury liner also boasts The Retreat which has suite accommodation, a private restaurant, an exclusive lounge and sundeck, as well as a team of hosts to look after guests 24 hours a day.

“We are elated to welcome Celebrity Apex to our family of magnificent vessels that push the boundaries of what’s possible on a cruise ship,” said Richard Fain, chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group.

is also offering holidaymakers 50 per cent off a cruise fare for a second guest in any stateroom onboard its new luxury fleet for anyone booking onto sailings between December 1, 2021, and April 30, 2023, when booking before December 13, 2021.
