Naming ceremony for Celebrity Apex
â new ship named in Fort Lauderdale before kicking off inaugural season
â new luxury ship Celebrity Apex has been named during a special ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.
The naming ceremony on Tuesday (November 2) was led by the shipâs godmother, Reshma Saujani, founder of Girls Who Code, and author of â?Brave, Not Perfectâ.
After the ceremony, the ship set sail on its inaugural Caribbean season, visiting Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Belize, and Grand Caymans.
Celebrity Apex features two-storey villa accommodation with plunge pools, 29 restaurants and lounges, a spa and luxury boutiques, including Montblanc, Bvlgari, Cartier and more.
Other ship highlights include The Magic Carpet, a cantilevered space above the sea which offers guests great views while sipping cocktails or having dinner.
The new luxury liner also boasts The Retreat which has suite accommodation, a private restaurant, an exclusive lounge and sundeck, as well as a team of hosts to look after guests 24 hours a day.
