P&O Cruises is to drop its daily service charge from all sailings as of May 2019.

The daily gratuity currently stands at £7 per person per day.

Paul Ludlow, P&O Cruises senior vice president, said: “We take huge pride in giving guests a holiday experience that’s truly memorable and special. By removing the daily discretionary Service Charge, P&O Cruises will make enjoying a cruise holiday an effortless experience, knowing that great service comes as standard.”

A spokeswoman for P&O confirmed that crew pay and benefits would not be affected by the change.
