The 110-metre Lürssen superyacht Radiant has been spotted cruising through the sparkling waters of Athens, drawing attention from locals and yacht watchers as she made her way along the Greek coastline. The sighting comes shortly after the vessel was photographed near the capital earlier this year, reaffirming Athens as a rising hotspot for large-yacht traffic.
Designed by renowned stylist Tim Heywood, Radiant features a powerful profile and striking exterior lines. Delivered in 2009 by German shipyard Lürssen, the yacht remains one of the most recognizable vessels in the 100m+ category. Her interior, penned by Glen Pushelburg, is designed to deliver the warmth and comfort of a luxury residence while preserving the sophistication expected from a yacht of her stature.
Powered by twin MTU diesel engines, Radiant reaches a top speed of around 21 knots and cruises comfortably near 16 knots, allowing her to traverse Mediterranean hotspots with ease. She sails under the Cayman Islands flag, and her current owner is believed to be UAE businessman Abdulla Al Futtaim, who has maintained the yacht to world-class standards.
Among her luxury amenities are features typically seen on elite megayachts of her class, including a helipad, beach club, gym, cinema, and expansive relaxation decks. Her 16-metre beam provides exceptionally generous interior and exterior volumes, placing Radiant among the more spacious yachts in her size bracket.
This latest appearance near Athens comes months after Radiant was photographed docked at Flisvos Marina, a preferred destination for global yacht owners thanks to its high-end facilities and proximity to the Aegean.
As winter cruising patterns shift and the Mediterranean transitions into its quieter season, sightings of significant megayachts like Radiant highlight how Greece continues to cement itself as a year-round luxury maritime destination.
Who Owns Radiant?
The yacht is widely attributed to Abdulla Al Futtaim, one of the Middle East’s most influential businessmen. His group controls automotive dealerships, shopping malls, real estate developments and luxury brands across the region.
Although superyacht ownership is rarely confirmed publicly, Radiant’s longstanding association with Al Futtaim is consistently referenced in yacht industry databases and maritime trackers.
How Much Is Radiant Worth?
When she was delivered in 2009, Radiant reportedly cost between $300–350 million, with some estimates pushing closer to $400 million depending on custom features.
