AIDA Cruises is bringing one of its familiar faces to a brand-new stage. The cruise line has confirmed that AIDAluna will sail from New York in fall 2027, opening up fresh itineraries along the U.S. East Coast, Canada, and the Caribbean.

For AIDA, the move marks a notable expansion into North American homeports. It also gives guests a new way to experience the brand beyond its traditional European departures.

A Transatlantic Journey With Scenic Stops

The adventure begins well before New York comes into view. On September 3, 2027, AIDAluna will depart Hamburg on a transatlantic crossing packed with dramatic scenery and northern highlights.

The voyage includes calls in Reykjavik, followed by sailings through Greenland’s Prinz Christian Sound and a stop in Nanortalik.

From there, the ship will continue across the Atlantic to New York before heading north toward Canada.

Once based in New York, AIDAluna will introduce new eight-day itineraries that allow guests to explore both Halifax and Boston.

These sailings give travelers a mix of historic cities, coastal scenery, and classic fall cruising conditions.

East Coast, Caribbean and a Long Winter Escape

Beyond Canada, AIDAluna will also operate cruises along the U.S. East Coast. Planned routes include visits to the Bahamas, Miami, Port Canaveral, and Norfolk, offering a blend of beach destinations and American ports.

For guests looking for something even bigger, AIDA is also rolling out a standout long-haul option. The 44-day “Great Winter Break Caribbean with Amazon” cruise will sail round-trip from Hamburg aboard AIDAmar.

The strong rebound in passenger numbers mirrors what’s happening at other major U.S. cruise hubs, with ports like New Orleans once again crossing the one-million-passenger mark as demand continues to surge.

This extended journey allows German guests to cross the Atlantic and explore the Caribbean without flying. It reflects AIDA’s continued focus on immersive, slow-travel experiences that combine comfort with adventure.

With New York added to the map and ambitious long voyages on offer, AIDA is clearly widening its horizons. Fall 2027 is shaping up to be a milestone season for the brand and its loyal travelers.
