A fresh name has entered the Greek cruise scene, and it’s all about slowing things down and doing things differently.
Blue Zephyr Cruises has officially launched its small-ship operation in the Greek Isles, offering a more intimate and relaxed way to explore the region starting in 2026.
The Greek-American owned brand is introducing travelers to the Blue Zephyr, a boutique ship built for people who want space, calm, and authentic experiences rather than big crowds and packed schedules. With just 114 guests onboard, the focus is clearly on quality time, both at sea and ashore.
Sailing from Athens, the cruise line will offer eight-day and 13-day itineraries that move beyond the usual busy ports.
These journeys are designed to reach quieter islands and charming coastal towns that larger ships simply can’t access, giving guests a deeper look at Greece.
Small Ship, Big Focus on Experience
What makes Blue Zephyr Cruises stand out is its commitment to intimacy and personal service. With only 57 cabins, the ship feels more like a private yacht than a traditional cruise vessel, allowing guests to truly relax and feel at home.
The onboard experience is shaped around travelers who appreciate privacy, thoughtful service, and meaningful cultural connections.
Instead of rushing from port to port, guests are encouraged to take their time, explore at a comfortable pace, and enjoy places that still feel genuinely local.
Food also plays a major role in the experience. Menus are inspired by fresh, local ingredients and farm-to-table cooking, turning each meal into part of the journey rather than just another dining option.
A Refreshed Ship With Plans Beyond Greece
Originally built in 1991 and fully renovated in 2025, the Blue Zephyr blends classic maritime character with modern comfort.
The ship carries 65 crew members, ensuring attentive service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere throughout the voyage.
Cruise fares reflect the boutique nature of the experience, with eight-day itineraries starting at €3,050 per person and the longer 13-day Grand Aegean Journey beginning at €5,550 per person. These sailings are aimed at travelers who value comfort, space, and authenticity over volume.
While the Greek Isles are the main focus for 2026, the company is already looking ahead. Plans are underway to explore niche winter destinations that match the ship’s small-scale, destination-driven style, with more details expected to be announced soon.
