Disney to host Star Wars day at sea

Star Wars Disney

Disney Cruise Line is to celebrate the release of the next instalment of the Star Wars franchise by putting on a day dedicated to the film phenomenon.

Star Wars Day at Sea will include the film’s popular characters roaming the ship for passenger meet and greets, a shipboard Jedi training programme and screenings of all six Star Wars films in the ship’s cinema.

Adults will also be able to drink cocktails based on the film franchise while young passengers can take part in similarly themed arts and crafts.

The Star Wars day will occur on eight Disney Fantasy sailings in the Western Caribbean in 2016 between January and April.

The cruise line will also host themed deck parties, ‘insiders’ from Star Wars and fireworks and music.

Disney bought the rights to Star Wars in 2012.
