Mercedes Maybach Launches Maybach Ocean Club Superyacht Concept

The Mercedes-Maybach brand has unveiled plans for an ultra-luxury maritime concept known as the Maybach Ocean Club, marking the brand’s entry into high-end sea travel. The concept centres on a purpose-built members’ club superyacht named Beyond Horizons, designed to redefine luxury on the water.

The Ocean Club is being developed in partnership with Splendid Sea and German naval architects Dölker + Voges.

Together, the teams aim to blend Maybach’s signature luxury with refined nautical design, creating an exclusive floating retreat rather than a traditional cruise ship.

Measuring approximately 155 metres with a gross tonnage exceeding 15,000, Beyond Horizons will feature 30 identical residential-style suites, each with a private balcony.

The layout removes hierarchy between cabins, offering equal accommodation for all members.

Decks spanning more than 4,500 square metres will include expansive sun decks, an infinity pool and large social areas inspired by classic ocean liners. A beach club and panoramic lounges are also planned to strengthen the connection between guests and the sea.

Membership in the Maybach Ocean Club will be invitation only, with around 300 co-owners expected to join. Each member will have access to the yacht for several weeks per year, along with shared spaces designed to encourage a sense of community on board.

Rather than traditional ownership, the project follows a fractional ownership model, reducing the demands of yacht maintenance while delivering a consistent luxury lifestyle. The approach reflects a wider shift in premium travel toward exclusivity paired with convenience.

The Beyond Horizons concept is expected to attract affluent travellers seeking privacy, prestige and bespoke exploration. While a final shipyard contract has yet to be confirmed, current plans target a potential launch ahead of an inaugural season in 2029.

As luxury brands expand into experiential travel, the Maybach Ocean Club represents a new direction in superyacht design. Shared ownership, personalised itineraries and community living come together to create a highly curated experience at sea.

Recently, the first yacht designed by Aramani, aka Georgia Armani, was sold, and industry estimates its sale price at $181 million.
