MSC Group has officially opened its new North American Cruise Division headquarters in downtown Miami, marking a big moment for the company’s future in the region.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony signals more than a change of address; it represents MSC’s growing confidence in the U.S. cruise market.
The new headquarters occupies the entire seventh floor at Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk, a modern development near Miami’s waterfront. With 130,000 square feet of space, the office brings MSC’s expanding cruise teams together in one central location.
Local officials, business leaders, and MSC executives attended the opening to mark the occasion. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins both welcomed the investment as a win for the city.
A Long-Term Investment in Growth
MSC Group says the new headquarters reflects the scale of its ambitions across North America. The project represents an estimated $100 million direct investment and reinforces Miami’s role as a global cruise hub.
Rubén A. Rodríguez, CEO of MSC Group’s North America Cruise Division, said the new space is designed to encourage collaboration and innovation.
By housing teams from MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys together, the company hopes to move faster and think bigger.
Rodríguez added that MSC is preparing for continued growth in the U.S. market. More ships, more guests, and more homeports are all part of the company’s long-term strategy.
The location also places MSC close to PortMiami, often called the Cruise Capital of the World. That proximity makes Miami a natural base for managing cruise operations across the region.
Jobs, Economic Impact, and Community Benefits
Beyond MSC’s own growth, the new headquarters is expected to deliver major benefits to the local economy. An analysis by the Miami-Dade Beacon Council projects up to 1,500 new jobs over the next three years.
The office is also expected to generate roughly $300 million each year in recurring economic impact. That includes spending across hospitality, logistics, infrastructure, and supporting industries.
The early release of South America itineraries follows MSC Cruises’ broader expansion strategy, as the line continues to strengthen its global footprint with new deployments and longer-term planning across key region
Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said the investment strengthens Miami-Dade’s position as a global center for cruise and cargo operations. She also noted that the project reflects MSC’s confidence in the community and its future.
City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins echoed those sentiments, calling the move a clear signal that Miami remains a top destination for global companies.
She said the city continues to attract businesses that value innovation, collaboration, and long-term opportunity.
With its new headquarters now open, MSC Group has made a clear statement about its future in North America. For Miami, the move reinforces its status as one of the world’s most important cruise industry capitals.
