Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Marc Kazlauskas as its next president, set to begin January 19, 2026, as announced in its official press release. The change comes as the brand accelerates its growth and fleet plans.
Kazlauskas brings over 30 years of travel industry experience to the role. Most recently, he served as CEO of Avoya Travel, one of the largest travel networks in the U.S. Before that, he held senior leadership roles at FROSCH and Chase Travel Group, managing more than $11 billion in annual sales.
On his appointment, Kazlauskas said:
“I’m honored to join Norwegian Cruise Line at a pivotal moment. This brand has tremendous energy, an innovative fleet and loyal guests. I look forward to working with the team to build on this momentum and deliver unforgettable experiences.”
His background includes broad experience in sales, operations, and strategic growth, making him well-positioned to lead NCL into its next chapter.
Harry Sommer, President & CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, welcomed the news:
“Marc is a seasoned leader with deep industry insight and commercial strength. His ability to foster strategic partnerships and focus on guest experience will be invaluable as we expand our global footprint.”
The leadership change coincides with a busy period for the cruise line. Norwegian is rolling out new ships and expanding itineraries while refining guest offerings to stay competitive in a crowded global market. The upcoming Norwegian Luna and other additions are key to that strategy.
Kazlauskas succeeds David Herrera, who exited earlier this year.
According to industry observers, this transition aims to sharpen NCL’s commercial strategy and strengthen its operational focus as the company pushes into 2026.
With new leadership and a robust ship lineup, Norwegian Cruise Line is positioning itself for continued momentum in the years ahead.
