Oceanco has released the first images of Project Y729, its inaugural 80-metre yacht from the Simply Custom series, as the vessel moves into the outfitting stage. Construction on the yacht began in 2023, and she has now been transferred from Oceanco’s facilities in Zwijndrecht to Alblasserdam, where interior installation and technical outfitting will take place.

Project Y729 is the first yacht built on Oceanco’s Simply Custom platform, which allows owners to streamline the design and build process by using a shared technical backbone while retaining a high level of customization. According to Oceanco Project Director Erwin de Looff, this approach has enabled the project to progress at an accelerated pace without compromising quality or engineering standards.
Design Team and Owner Involvement

The yacht marks the first new-build project for her owners, who previously chartered yachts and have remained closely involved throughout the construction process, shaping the yacht as a family focused vessel.
Strong collaboration between the owners, designers and shipyard has been a defining feature of the project, with all parties working closely to refine both design and technical decisions as the build progresses.

Delivery Target Set for 2027

Oceanco’s Simply Custom collection now includes 27 yacht design concepts, all based on the same technical platform and featuring an optimised hull design by Lateral Naval Architects. The yachts have an estimated gross tonnage of 2,500–2,700 GT, balancing efficiency with generous onboard volume.
With outfitting now underway, Project Y729 will move into final fabrication before launch, sea trials and delivery scheduled for 2027, marking a major milestone for Oceanco’s Simply Custom programme.
