Aman at Sea Begins Construction For New Luxury Yacht Amangati

Bryan Conrad

Aman at Sea has reached an important milestone in the construction of its first luxury yacht, Amangati, as the vessel’s hull completed a key stage of the build. The company marked the moment in December by moving the hull between shipyards in Italy.

After a week-long tow, the team transported the hull from San Giorgio di Nogaro to the Port of Genoa. This journey signalled a clear transition as the project entered its next phase.

Amangati is now berthed at the T. Mariotti shipyard, where the shipyard will carry out outfitting work over the coming months. This phase will focus on completing the yacht’s interiors, technical systems and guest areas.

As the first vessel in the Aman at Sea fleet, Amangati marks a new direction for the Aman brand. The yacht recently floated out and remains on schedule for delivery in 2027.

Aman at Sea operates as a joint venture between the Aman Group and Cruise Saudi. The company expects to open reservations for Amangati’s first Mediterranean season in early 2026.

Once delivered, the 183-metre-long yacht will sail Mediterranean itineraries during the summer of 2027. These voyages will reflect Aman’s focus on space, privacy and a relaxed pace.

The name Amangati comes from a Sanskrit word meaning “peaceful motion,” a concept that closely reflects Aman’s calm and understated approach to luxury.

On board, the yacht will feature 47 suites, each with a private balcony. Guests will also enjoy four dining venues, a jazz club and the Aman Spa, which will include a Japanese garden.

Aman first announced the project in early 2023, describing it as an entry into a new space within the ultra-luxury travel market. The brand aims to deliver a resort-style experience at sea rather than a traditional cruise.

SINOT Yacht Design created the yacht’s exterior and guest accommodation, while De Wave Group joined the project after securing the outfitting contract in 2023.

With construction now progressing in Genoa, Amangati continues to take shape as one of the most anticipated new luxury yachts set to enter service later this decade.
